Jong Eun Kim is May’s Linguist Learner of the Month. He is a twenty-eight year-old system manager who lives in Seoul, South Korea. He has been a member of The Linguist for only seven months but has already saved over 5000 words and phrases and learned almost 2000 words and phrases.

Jong Eun studied English for over eight years in Korea but he did not achieve fluency. In Korea, most English courses teach the students how to do well on exams but do not teach them how to communicate effectively. This was not the way Jong Eun wanted to continue studying English. Therefore, he looked for a different solution and found The Linguist.

Jong Eun enjoys learning English on The Linguist for many reasons, not the least of which is the reasonable price. He also likes the fact that we concentrate on speaking naturally, rather than focusing on grammar and grades. Furthermore, because The Linguist keeps track of his statistics, Jong Eun is able to monitor his progress and make sure he meets his targets.

Jong Eun is making progress on The Linguist and I believe a big part of his progress is due to the fact that he now enjoys learning English.
