Lesson 1:Make, Do and Have
Hello. Today I'm going to talk about collocations with the verbs make, do and have. I'll read the text twice. Once at normal speed and a second at a slower speed.
To make a mistake.
Do you ever make mistakes?
Last week I made a big mistake. I sent my brother a birthday card for his 40th birthday but he was only 39!
To have a party.
My brother didn't have a party for his birthday but next year he's having a party for his 40th.
To do your homework.
I can't go out because I'm doing my homework. I should've done it at the weekend but I didn't.
Do you always do your homework? Do you make many mistakes?
Other collocations:
I like making cakes in my spare time. I don't like doing housework, I'd rather have a bath and read a good book.
